This past weekend in Monterey California, Porsche not only celebrated the arrival of the new 918 Spyder Concept to North America, but also celebrated a monumental achievement: The 60th year of the brand in the United States. To reflect back on 60 years within the country, Porsche launched www.porsche60Years.com While in Monterey, Porsche Works Driver Patrick Long had the opportunity to drive two great examples of Porsche’s portfolio: The 1960 Porsche 356B 2000 GS Carrera GT race car and a new 2011 911 Turbo S. While driving on the world famous back roads of Monterey California, Patrick reflects on what it means to be part of the Porsche family and at the same time, drives the two cars the way they were meant to be driven.
This past Thursday, the Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid made its driving debut on a closed road in Monterey California, just days prior to its appearance at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. After being shipped over from Germany by plane, engineers handed the keys of the new 918 Spyder Hybrid to Porsche
